Scramble Rules and Format
Rule #1:
All scrambles will be handicapped. A chart showing the handicap
of each team in regards to the total handicap of the four players
representing each team.
Rule #2:
The same six holes used to start league play will also be used to
start scramble play. The scoring sheet for that night will have the
starting holes for each team. Two four-somes will start at each
hole.
Rule #3:
A ball in the fairway or rough can be moved no further than the
length of the longest club in your bag. A ball in a hazard can not
be moved at all. A ball on the green can be moved the length of a
scorecard. At no time can the ball be moved closer to the hole.
Rule #4:
All starting times are 5:30pm.
Rule #5:
If a team has only 3 players on it's scramble team, they must
alternate the fourth shot among the three players. Once the order
of hitting has been established, that order must be maintained.
A scramble team can have no less than 3 players.
Scramble #1:
This scramble will be a best shot scramble. All
players must have a numeric handicap. (Therefore you must
play twice in the league before you can participate in a scramble.)
Scramble #2:
This scramble will be a two-man scramble. The "A" & "D" players
will play best shot and the "B" & "C" players will play best shot.
The "A" & "D" players will play with the "A" & "D" players from
the team starting on the same tee box. The same is true for the
"B" & "C" players.
Scramble #3:
This scramble will be a Red Ball Scramble. In this scramble the
"A" player will play the three hardest handicapped holes (2, 6, & 9)
from the tee to the hole while the other three players scramble.
The "B" player will play the fourth and fifth hardest holes (4 & 1)
from the tee to hole while the other three players scramble. The "C"
player will play the sixth and seventh hardest handicapped holes
(7 & 8) from the tee to the hole while the other three players
scramble. The "D" player will play the eighth and nineth hardest
holes (#3 & #5) from the tee to the hole while the other three
players scramble.
Scramble #4:
This scramble will be a two-man scramble. The "A" & "C" players
will play best shot and the "B" & "D" players will play best shot.
The "A" & "C" players will play with the "A" & "C" players from
the team starting on the same tee box. The same is true for the
"B" & "D" players.
Scramble #5:
This scramble will be a Blue Ball Scramble. The format is that
all four players get to use the best drive from the group. From that
point on the "A" player will play his ball while the other three
players scramble on holes #2, #6 & #9. The "B" player will play
his ball from the best drive while the other three players scramble
on holes #4 & #1. The "C" player will play his ball from the best
drive while the other three players scramble on holes #7 & #8.
The "D" player will play his ball from the best drive while the other
three players scramble on holes #3 & #5 (hole #10 will replace #5,
until #5 is reopened). Each hole will have two scores
that will be added together at the end of play.
